03The Procedure

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

FUE is a minimally invasive hair restoration technique. Individual follicular units are carefully extracted from the donor area — usually the back and sides of the scalp — and placed into thinning or balding areas, following the natural direction and angle of your hair.

  • No linear scalpel incision, no stitches
  • Precise placement for a natural-looking hairline
  • Suitable for the hairline, crown and general thinning
  • Doctor-led, personally performed by Dr Alex or Dr Ranadi and the trained team

Not ready for surgery? We also offer non-surgical & medical hair-loss management.

Hair transplantation is a higher-risk non-surgical cosmetic procedure. Suitability is determined at an in-clinic medical consultation.

04The Technology Behind Our Name

Objective 3D planning with TrichoLAB

We’re one of only a small number of clinics in Australia using TrichoLAB’s 3D Studio. Instead of estimating by eye, Dr Alex or Dr Ranadi measures your donor supply and designs your hairline in three dimensions — so your graft numbers, your plan and your quote are grounded in real data, not guesswork.

  • Objective graft counts — measured, not estimated
  • See your own scalp and proposed hairline in 3D before you decide
  • See your plan explained in 3D, in person — understand exactly what’s proposed and why
  • Honest, data-led advice — including if a transplant isn’t right for you

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a hair transplant cost on the Gold Coast?

Cost depends on the number of grafts required, which is determined by the extent of hair loss, your donor supply and your goals. Because every case differs, pricing is individual rather than a fixed figure — so you’ll receive a clear, itemised quote at your consultation before making any decision, and finance options are available. You can read how pricing works on our Pricing page.

What is the recovery time after FUE?

Most patients return to everyday activities within a few days. Small scabs typically form in the recipient area and settle within 7–10 days, and any redness generally fades over the following weeks. Strenuous exercise and direct sun should be avoided initially. Dr Alex or Dr Ranadi provides tailored aftercare instructions for your situation.

Why choose an AHPRA-registered doctor for your transplant?

A hair transplant is a medical procedure that rewards surgical skill and aesthetic judgement. Choosing an AHPRA-registered doctor who leads your procedure — planning your treatment and working alongside a trained team to carry it out — means accountable, medically-led care at every stage.

Who performs the procedure?

Dr Alex or Dr Ranadi leads it in person. At some clinics a doctor plans your procedure but isn’t necessarily the one performing it. Here, both of our doctors are AHPRA-registered and personally perform the procedure themselves, working closely with the trained team. It’s doctor-led care from your first consultation through to your follow-up.

Are the results permanent?

Transplanted follicles are taken from areas resistant to the hormone that causes pattern hair loss, so they generally continue to grow long-term. However, a transplant does not stop existing non-transplanted hair from thinning over time, so your doctor may recommend ongoing measures to help maintain your overall result. Outcomes vary between individuals.

How long until I see the full results?

Transplanted hairs typically shed within the first few weeks (this is normal), with new growth usually beginning around 3–4 months. Meaningful density is often visible from about 6 months, with the full result generally apparent at around 12 months — sometimes continuing to improve up to 18 months.

Will the procedure leave visible scars?

FUE uses tiny circular extractions rather than a linear incision, so it does not leave a long scar. Very small, generally inconspicuous marks may remain in the donor area. Individual healing varies, and this is discussed fully at your consultation.

Is a hair transplant right for everyone?

No. Suitability depends on factors including donor hair density, age, the pattern of hair loss, scalp health and overall medical history. Some people are better suited to non-surgical options. Dr Alex or Dr Ranadi will give you an honest assessment — including if a transplant is not recommended for you.
