Yes — our online hair assessment and photo assessment are completely free and carry no obligation. The in-clinic 3D scalp analysis and consultation carries a fee, and that fee is fully refunded against the cost of any hair transplant procedure you have with us.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) relocates healthy hair follicles from the donor area — usually the back and sides of the scalp — into thinning or balding areas, following the natural angle and direction of your hair. There’s no linear scalpel incision and no stitches. Read more on our FUE Procedure page.

Dr Alex or Dr Ranadi leads it in person. At some clinics a doctor plans your procedure but isn’t necessarily the one performing it. Here, both of our doctors are AHPRA-registered and personally perform the procedure themselves, working closely with the trained team. It’s doctor-led care from your first consultation through to your follow-up.

It’s performed under local anaesthetic, and most patients report only mild discomfort. Any tenderness afterwards is usually short-lived and part of normal healing.

Not necessarily. Where you’re clinically suitable, the donor area can be shaved for extraction while the top of your head is left at length, so you don’t need to shave your whole scalp. Whether this option suits you depends on your hair length, graft plan and donor area — your doctor will confirm this at your assessment.

Most people return to everyday activities within a few days. Small scabs typically settle within 7–10 days and any redness fades over the following weeks. Strenuous exercise and direct sun should be avoided initially. You’ll get tailored aftercare instructions.

Transplanted hairs usually shed in the first few weeks (this is normal), with new growth generally beginning around 3–4 months. Meaningful density is often visible from about 6 months, with the fuller result generally around 12 months — sometimes improving to 18. Results vary between individuals.

Transplanted follicles are taken from areas resistant to the hormone that causes pattern hair loss, so they generally continue to grow long-term. However, a transplant doesn’t stop existing non-transplanted hair from thinning, so ongoing measures may be recommended to maintain your overall result.

FUE uses tiny circular extractions rather than a linear incision, so it doesn’t leave a long scar. Very small, generally inconspicuous marks may remain in the donor area. Individual healing varies.

Suitability depends on your donor hair density, the pattern and stability of your hair loss, your age, scalp health and general medical history. Some people are better suited to non-surgical options. Age isn’t a hard cut-off, but in very young patients the future pattern of hair loss can be hard to predict, which makes durable planning difficult. Suitability is assessed individually.
